Shamiso Kumbirai recently attended the biennial Water Institute of South Africa Conference held at the CTICC in Cape Town from the 25th to the 27th of June.  The event focused on finding ways to connect the dots and bridge the gaps in stewardship between water utilities, private corporations and government entities. Herself and 3 colleagues ran a workshop exploring the possibility of African cities transitioning to being Water Smart Cities. Other topics such as the application of 4IR in the water sector were discussed with several innovative solutions presented by experts in the field.
