On 17th November 2018, Tshwane Hub was excited to form part of the TedXPretoria team. We’ve been looking to partner and work with more local teams in the city and this partnership was a great start.

The TedXPretoria team put together an inspiring event bringing together inquiring minds from all over Tshwane. The theme this year was #IAm and engaged with ideas around the education system, how we can all live forever, aquaponics and blockchain to name a few. There were also amazing performances by local musicians Thembani Ketse, Kirsten Dey and Anga Mamfanya.

Shapers from the Tshwane Hub were there to help set up the event the day before and on the day. Tshwane Hub was also able to invite two of the students who were winners in our Financial Literacy program to attend the event. The girls were well inspired and gravitated towards talks about feminism and tech.

It has been exciting to bring these different impact areas together, as part of the hub’s mission to see and #ShapeTshwane more holistically. We’re looking forward to growing this partnership with TedxPretoria in the next year and for more engagements with the wider Tshwane community! Thank you to the TedXPretoria team for allowing us to be part of the event and for an inspiring experience.
